2nd PTM

Hello
Saturday was Sahej's 2nd PTM in DPS.
We went there to meet his teacher and were ready for the complaints.
When we were going there, Sahej was the one giving me directions and telling me all the way that he knows his route to school. Amazing from a kid of 4 years who goes to school in a bus to remember the route.
On reaching his class, we were handed over his assignments and work sheets. Sahej had done excellent work in a lot of them getting almost full marks in them. In some he had not fared well, and that was also due to his own negligence in doing so.
His teacher also told us that he has improved a lot in terms of alphabets and number writing s and recognitions. The only complaint she had for his was that he is very naughty in class. He usually finishes his classwork very fast and ahead of others and then starts talking to others and disturbing them. Hmmmm
Also she complained that he is so interested in completing his classwork fast that on one occasion, he missed what numbers his teacher had asked him to write and instead wrote different numbers and thus losing some of his marks. Otherwise he was doing good.
And the same could be seen in his second term mark sheet as well. He had received "Excellent" in almost all the headings except for a few. He had moved from the lowest ranking to the highest ranking in some of the headings also. Overall a good result.
Way to go Sahej....
Last week we also went to see Auro in "Paa". Sahej thoroughly enjoyed the movie and even did a trademark Auro dance step when he came back home. This weekend Sahej enjoyed watching "Rocket Singh".
Next week, Sahej is going to have long vacations. His PS2 has also arrived. On friday, munna was on leave and took Sahej to her office in the evening where he enjoyed at McDonalds and then went to her seat to play some games.
Chalo will update more later..

Other Happenings

Hello
Time to update the other happenings of Oct/Nov.
This month it was Munna's Happy BDay.
So me n Sahej went to get her a bouquet and order a cake fro her. We went on a bike, and after going through a couple of florists, got the one we liked. Then was the problem of getting the bouquet home as we were on bike. So Sahej and me managed to squeeze the thing in between us with Sahej holding it and preventing it to fall down. Pretty heroic na...
Then we went to order the cake for Munna, and asked the guy to home deliver it in the night. When we reached home, I asked Sahej to keep mum about the bouquet thing so that we can give a surprise to Munna. But, Sahej being Sahej, told Munna as soon as she was home all the things and off goes the surprise out from the window.
He eventually enjoyed the cake cutting and the cake as well. Then he also had a fun eating dinner. And the jackpot of the day for Sahej was to go and watch "Ajab Prem Ki Gazab Kahani". You had to be there to watch Sahej engrossed in the movie. He was laughing his heart out. He was the person who might have enjoyed the movie the most, I thought.
Well, Sahej enjoys all the movies. All the movies are "Bahut Achhi" in his terms. The proof being Blue, De Dhana Dhan, which can be awarded the crappiest movies. But Sahej enjoyed these too as well.
Chalo will update more later

Skates Champion

Hello
Its been a long time since I last updated this blog. I have been busy lately, doing nothing, and also been lazy to have been absent for this long.
In this time, Sahej has been doing a lot of stuff. Planning new shararats, doing his homework, attending school, watching movies and a lot more.
Skates has also started happening for Sahej in these days. He already had a pair of Funskool skates. Earlier once when he tried to wear them, he had a fall and since then had stayed away from them. But last month, he again gathered the courage to try once more. He padded up with the skates, his helmet, knee caps and elbow guards. And he was ready to skate.

Initially, I started helping him by holding his hands and guiding him how to do it. My experience being a two hour skating I tried doing in my school days in which I failed miserably and had many a falls on my back side. The only advice I can remember now from my experience at that time is that you need to keep the balance on the front and not on back.
So I adviced the same to Sahej who, being a fast learner, started doing the same. Apart from one fall, he managed pretty well that day. Then when I left one of his hands, and then another, he pretty much managed himself to skate for a long time, though at a very slow pace, but still doing great in terms of being a first timer.
And the subsequent days followed by training and practice from Sahej to repeat his performance. now he can skate at a less speed. I an pretty sure, he will be able to master this skill as well pretty soon.
Thanks
Bye

PS. Attached snaps of him doing the Skates.

Ismein Namak Hai Kya(Does this have Salt)

Hi
This week Sahej had a "Hold and Tell" competition. This was where he had to bring a thing to school and tell everyone some things about it. The thing can be a toy, teddy or a game. When I asked him, what will be his favorite thing which he wants to take to school, he was confused. Finally he decided to take his monkey along. But monkey being very small, we persuaded him to take his elephant. So we taught his a few line about his elephant and tried hard so that he can remember those. It was a tough task, but Sahej tried hard to remember.
When the contest was over, we asked his teacher about the result and she told us that he did fine in the class.
This Sunday, Sahej got himself a new toothpaste. he liked it so much that he took 2 of them. And all the while in the mall, he kept on holding those. When this morning, I asked him to brush his teeth with the new toothpaste, he went to select the one he wanted to open. But then he changed his mind and told me that he wont open these and will do the paste instead from the older one. When I asked him why, he told me that he doesnt want to open them. Finally I persuaded him to open one. When he started brushing his teeth, he asked me innocently "papa, is mein namak hai kya" (Dad, does this paste has salt in it). This was in reference to the ad on TV which tells that with salt in the paste, your teeth will not hurt. So much for innocence.
This week, Sahej also did his homework and also the extra work. He did that in the pursuit to watch the new CD I had bought him. Tell you what, you have to bribe your kids to do the stuff they originally have to do anyway.
Thanks

Diwali

Hello
This weekend it was Diwali time. Sahej and Munna were having a day off on Friday. So they both had a blast on this day. They went to Hyper City for shopping and there Sahej played video games. On Diwali, Sahejw as given a remote car of red color as his gift.
We went to market in the afternoon. Then we went to gurudwara saahib in the evening. There Sahej lit up candles for babaji. He was enjoying his diwali till that moment. When we started coming back, people had already started bursting crackers on road. And there were some heavy bombs being burnt as well. Sahej got so scared that he started crying. We had to rush from there so that he can stop crying. On the way, we bought some crackers for Sahej as well-some fulljhadies and pencils. On the way back, we kept making his mind to try crackers along with agam, his friend. On reaching home, he called agam to come and do the cracker this together. Till that moment Sahej was repeating "mujhe crackers se darr nahin lagta"(I am not afraid of crackers). But the moment, I burnt the first phuljhady, both Sahej and agam were scared and started running. Eventually Sahej made up his mind and started enjoying his crackers.

Maharaj/Narakasur

Hello
Last week as part of Diwali celebrations, Sahej was going to act in a skit in which he was going to portray the role of Narakasur. The Daemon who was killed by some lady. Sahej was to be dressed like a king and was to be sent to school with full attire and makeup. We got the dress on rent for him. On the D_Day, Sahej woke up and got ready. Munna did the makeup and Sahej was ready as a narakasur. However, we didnt tell him that he was going to act a s a Daemon, so as not to drop his enthusiasm. I told him he was going to be a Maharaj. When he asked who is that, I told him Maharaj of Dholakpur, from his favorite cartoon serial "Chhota Bheem", listening to which Sahej was very happy and excited.

So Sahej went to school dressed as a king. He looked every bit a royal. Dress matched and suited his personality very well.

When he came back, he had a star on both his hands. Also a note of appreciation from his teacher. He must have acted very well as an asur.

Holiday Time

Hello
Long time and no post. That was due to the reason that we were on a family holiday. We had been planning for a long time to go back to North to visit the relatives there and were hoping to go some where around diwali. But fate had other plans. While still planning for the dates, I wanted to see when is Sahej having his holidays. And when we checked, we found that he was having his vacations around Dushera and not Diwali, and to compound it, he will be having his mid term exams around Diwali. So every plan was shelved and we started looking for the reservations. And to our good fortunes, we did get a reservation in Rajdhani around the same time as we were looking for. So we were all set to go in a span of a couple of days.
The day we started the journey, 16th Sept, Sahej was all excited. He loves train journeys. And what else could he have asked for. There were 2 twins of exactly the same age as of Sahej travelling along on the adjoining seats. So his fun began. The three kids were having a time of their lives. Pushing the cabin door open and close, jumping on the seats, doing tarzan stuff, eating, shouting, and having a blast, they completed the journey and reached Delhi. From there we were to board a Shatabdi train to Jalandhar, from where we made our way to Hoshiarpur. There he had a rocking time with his cousins Hargun and Prabhgun and was never tired to play. Only the last day there on the sunday, they had a fight and Sahej cried. Otherwise he was too happy to leave that place. He also went to Darbar Sahib and payed his homage there, had a bath in the holy water and enjoyed his time.
Then we came to Yamuna Nagar to his Dadu's place. Sahej was the only kid there, but still enjoyed his time. We used to take the scooter in the evenings to the market and Sahej used to stand in front of it. He even started calling his mummy "Golgappa", because Jovita was completing her quota of golgappas by going and eating every time she had the oppurtunity.
Then we went for a couple of days to Chandigarh, where Sahej got his first brush at video game gazettes. his cousin Anmol, was having all the gizmos you can think of and Sahej started loving his cousin and more so his gizmos. He even took one of his nintendo gaming console along with him to the various places we were to go along the day.
And due to this only, we bought him his first video game. Also we bought him a PSP look-alike console from Mitashi, but we havent given him yet and are waiting for the right time.
On the way back to Hyderabad, Sahej was lucky enough to have found a children corner on the new terminal in Delhi. He passed his time well there and enjoyed his flight back.
The trip brought one thing very clear from his nature to the front. He hates dirty bathrooms and wont go for a Shit if he doesnt like the bathroom. When he went to Rupa massi's house, there he liked there bathroom so much that he went there and sat there for a good 20 minutes and then when he came back, he gave them a certification "aapka bathroom achha hai"
So back to hyderabad and back to old routine. His schools were to open on 1st oct, but the vacation has been extended by another couple of days and now will open on 5th.
Lets see how he settles back into his old school going routine...

I have the Power

Hello
This monday Sahej came back very happy from School. He had got a star on his hand. When asked why he had got it, he told that he got it because of "U", "woh maine 'U' achha banaya tha na isliye star mila hai"(Because I wrote 'U' very well in class, I got the star).
In the evening, when he was playing, he brought one artificial rose from the Vase and asked his nanny to smell it. Nanny replied that it is artificial rose so it wont smell. To this, guess what Sahej replied. He said "Mujhme power hai nanny, main ismein khushboo daal sakta hoon"(I have the power to put fragrance in this rose). And surely when his nanny smelled the rose, it was full of aroma. Magic na.....not really....
When aksed how he did it, he took nanny to his room, where Sahej had used the perfume bottle of Jovita to add fragrance to the artificial rose and to the whole room. Now this is smartness...
More later.

Chhota Battery

Hello
The title to this post is what Jovita called Sahej after his never ending, energetic displays of fighting, laughing and playing. And guess what he replied to this title with. "Bada Battery". Yes, this is what he called Jovita after being called Chhotta Battery. Amazing na...
Last week, Sahej was having holiday on thursday due to Ganesh Visarjan. And that day Jovita was also on leave as Sahej's nanny was not well. I was to come to office, but that day was declared a off due to YSR's death. Friday was also made a public holiday. So me n sahej had a long weekend. Jovita went to office on Saturday, but we "donno boys" as Sahej would call it had a long break.
That day Sahej came to me and showed me his homework which he was to complete. And when he was finished showing me, he asked me "papa agar saara homework finish ho jayega to mazaa aa jayega, phir mujhe school nahin jana padega"(If all my homework is finished, it will be great as then I wont have to go to school). Poor thing...he still doesn't realise that he will have to study for next 15-16 years minimum of his life. Long way to go....
This week I got Sahej his first PC-game. One in which you have to save the eggs by killing the bugs which want to take the eggs away. And boy, wasn's Sahej happy and excited to play it. He used to clap and shout loudly each time we killed one bug. He tried a hand at the game too. But as he was slow to move the mouse, most of his eggs were infact stollen and then he would lose his heart and cry fr not been able to kill the bugs. But soon with practice, he will be able to kill all of them.
Also this weekend, Sahej got another white board with a marker. I fixed this one of one of the almirahs in the room. And Sahej didn't waste any time starting to use it. He wrote his name, then mine and then Jovita's on it. Then all the alphabets and the digits, and then got down to some drawing of funny things, which when asked what they were, told that they were Sahej, papa and mummy.
Sahej also got his first Hot Wheels car this Saturday from HyperCity. We went there for the first time and as always, Sahej was busy collecting things which he wanted us to buy for him. He got his first crash car(the car opens up when it crashes), new toothpaste and a new tooth brush. He played all Saturday night and Sunday with his car. he loved it so much that he took it out on Sunday when we went to gurudwara saahib and also slept with it in the night.
Sahej has a very sharp memory. He remembers he roads, the routes we take to go to some place. He knows from where Jovita's office can be reached. He knows there are 2 ways to reach her office. When on Saturday, we were coming back from Jovita's office and I took the route to fetch the dinner, he was quick to note that I have not taken the normal route home. He quickly asked me why I have done so, where the new route will take him, why are we going there. I bet, he has a map for the new route now in his memory bank.
Chalo will update more later.

Another week passes by...

Hi
As another week passed by, Sahej was busy going to School, watching his CD's, doing his homework and playing. His fancy dress never happened due to reasons unknown. Rest all went well at his school. He is now able to write all the alphabets himself and can write most of the digits as well. Last sunday, when Jovita was out shopping, he sat with me and wrote all the alphabets and digits till 30 on his notebook. Not bad in terms of progress considering that about a couple of months back, he was not able to hold a pencil correctly and his teacher had asked us to get him practice more. Now a days, he can be seeing drawing the alphabets in mid air as well. I mean it....He tries to write the alphabets with his hands making the movement in air. And along with this action, he describes how the alphabet can be written, like for example, to draw a "T", he would move his hands in air and say "yeh 1 banaya, then sleeping line babanyee"(Draw a "1" and then draw a sleeping line on it).
On Saturday, we went to Sahib Sindh Sultan for dinner. There all the time Sahej was busy humming the tune "Dhan te Taan". After every 5 minutes or so, he used to sing the tune loudly, much to our entertainment and embarrassment.
Yesterday, we watched "New York" on CD. Sahej woke up early yesterday and when he saw that his mummy has brought the CD to watch, he was jumping up and down with excitement to start watching it. I was trying to sleep at that time and Jovita told him that we will watch the movie together along with our breakfast. He initially agreed to it, but when Jovita told him that this film also start Katrina Kaif(he is a big fan of Katrina and is often embarrassed when we catch him watching/ogling her, one day I had caught him watching Katrina photoraphs in a jovita's magazine), he just jumped from the bed in delight and started urging his mother to watch the movie at once. When not being able to persuade him to wait, which he was not eager to, now knowing fully well that he Katrina was in the movie, he finally started watching the movie alone. In the end, when Katrina was killed, he was sad and told her mummy "yeh movie kyon laaye, yeh achhi nahin hai"(why did you brought this moview, its no good). In one scene, when hero is watching the lift as his friend departs, he simply asked me "yeh lift kyon dekh raha hai"9why is he watching the lift). In another scene, when Jovita was laughing load with her hands on her tummy, he asked "kya hua, pet dard ho raha hai kya"(is your stomach aching)
He is now a days very excited to go outdoors. These days there are a lot of Ganesh ji idol's in the city on mark of Ganesh Chaturthi. He searches for these idols every time we go out and then goes and bows in respect to them. He even promised that day to complete his homework before watching TV, never to lie. But we know how much he is going to follow these promises.
See ya

"Why did you took this book"

Hi
As entioned earlier, last week due to Sahej's illness and his missing ou on school, he got a lot of homework. He was able to finish all his latest assignements, but was not able to complete his earlier works of doing 3 and 4 in the maths book. On monday when he went to school, he was asked to do a 8 on the same maths note book. When school finished, instead of returning the book to mad, our Sahej brought the book home. When I asked him about school he told me that they did a 8 in school. In his diary, I was not able to see any reference to his teacher sending the homework, yet there was his maths book in his bag with unfinished 8 page. When I asked him about this, Sahej told me the real story. He thought that because he has not finished his home work, he didnot handed the book to his teacher and instead brought it home. What a thinking....
I mean, he is so young to have duped his teacher by not submitting his note book.
I asked him not to repeat this again. The next day surely his teacher asked him "why did you took the book" and Sahej told her the truth. Thankfully his teacher understood and asked him not to repeat this and let him off without any punishments.
This week on friday, Sahej was to participate in Fancy Dress competion in which he was to enact any add. So we both, Munna n me, thought about the adds he can do. We thought of 3 adds-1) Surf excel add in which a sardar boy runs, falls, sees his dirty clothes, goes to his mother and says 'gande ho gaye, daag achhe hai, surf hai na". 2) Maruti add in which a sardar boys keeps runnign in the house with his small car and when asked about it responds to his father "ki kara, petrol khatam hi nahin hunda". 3) Boomer add in which the boy plays with boomer and says "thoda khao, thoda khelo".
Munna wanted him to do the surf add because she thought that Sahej looked the part. So yesterday, we bought him a small surf bar and got him to remeber the lines and prepare for it. Its so difficult to ask childrens to practice because they think that they will be able to do the act without practice. It took us 2 chocolates and a bag of chitos to finally persuade him to practice. And to tell the truth, he managed to act good.
Today, we wore him his white kurta pazama and reminded him of his lines. he went to school where he was to act. Now I am told that the competetion never happened. Anyways, he did practiced and is ready to act as and when the time comes.
Ciao

Down with Stomach Infection

Hi
Last week, Sahej came home from school and started complaining about stomach pains. He was also having high fever. His nanny panicked about the symptoms being related to Swine flu. I rushed home and gave him medicines. He was crying very loudly with hands on his stomach. We showed him to a doctor in the evening and he cleared our doubts that its just a stomach infection and not a Swine Flu. Thank God!!!!. We were so scared...but thankfully it was just a stomach infection.
He rested for the next 2 days and didnt go to his school. Friday was his school holiday on eve of Janamashtmi. So he had a long break. Munna brought his homework from School where his teacher also gave the classwork which he was supposed to complete. So Sahej was drowned in a huge pool of homework and classwork.
To our constant intervention and to Sahej's following our requests, he was able to complete al his work by Saturday itself. And on sunday, he was in no mood to touch his books. Who can argue with him about that. After doing so much homework, even I would have thrown by books out of the door.
That day when we were coming after showing him to his doctor, Munna was asking me to buy her some shoes. She had liked one shoe in Central and I had not allowed her to buy that one, and she was complaining about it. And to this our Sahej just sweetely asked munna "to woh kal nahin milega kya"(So will that shoe not available tomorrow)....meaning go tomorrow and buy it...big deal. So sweet of him...
Now a days, he is kind of following my instructions very well. And he does not follow his mummy's instructions at all. It seems like a role-reverser for him. When earlier he used to bash me along with munna, now a days its munna who is at the recieving end. When ever I want him to do a thing, all I have to say is "dono boys karenge"(we both boys will do it) and he is ready to board the ship. He keeps calling his mumma as Lalaji when earlier it was me who was called by this name. i am really enjoying it....but what about munna?

First Report Card

Hello
Saturday was Sahej's PTM in DPS. When we went there, we were shown his notebooks for the first time. The books showed us that Sahej was strugling with his writing earlier. But after his teacher had recommended that we get him practice at home, and we started making him do him homework himself, there was a marked improvement. His teacher also seconded this opinion. We were then shown his marks in 3 tests that Sahej had undergone. His scores were 21, 20 and 19 in the three tests out of the total of 25. 80% is not a bad score at all, but his mother is targetting 90%.
Weekend was hectic with Munna working i office. Me n Sahej tried to spend the day by making him do some of his homework, then playing basketball with him. Yesterday, we tried to do skates with Sahej waering his new Skate boots. But he kept falling and smiling as well.
Chalo will update more later.

Happy Birthday Sahej

Hello
Last Saturday was 1st Aug. It was Sahej's 4th Birthday. And as expected, we did had a small celebration for him at our home.
We had planned for the celebration around a week or two back. We had bought the return gifts and the decoration material. The thing to do was getting the stuff ready. Sahej had earlier in the week told us his feelings regarding the cake cutting. He told us "mumma, jab 12 ho jayenge na to aap light off kar dena and main cake cut kar doonga"(Mom when its 12 in the night, you turn the light off and I will cut the cake). So we had planned for him to cut his first cake at 12 in the night. Munna bought the cake and also ordered a bigger cake for the celebrations later in the day. Sahej was so excited to cut the cake. He did not get terified of the burning candle and also didnot needed our assistance in cutting the cake. He did the whole thing quite happily. We had a lot of fun clicking the pictures and then rubbing the cake all over Sahej's face.

On the 1st Aug, his birthday, we started getting ready the stuff for his celebrations. Munna and mummy were in the kitchen busy making the dishes. I was hip hopping between home and market to fetch the things. I also got the decorations part done by blowing a large number of balloons and then making a bunch of 7-8 balloons and hanging them together. At 5 we were ready to start the bash. Sahej wore his new birthday dress of white check Benetton shirt, blue benetton capri and his white shoes. He looked as handsome and royal as can be.
His freinds started coming around 5.30 and then Sahej was happy to greet thema nd collect his gifts. Then they all started playing games and having chips and cold drinks. When all the guests were present, we cut his birthday cake, a mickey mouse shaped black forest cake. We had the party poopers, a big balloon burst. Sahej was so happy all time along. Then started the eating part. Childrens were happy with the music, dance and their pipers. Adults were busy eating and chatting. All in all the celebration was a hit and everyone had a blast.
Sahej was very lucky in the way that his birthday was coincided with 2 Guru Granth Sahib path bhogs. On his birthday, his dady(grand mother) had did the bhog in her Yamuna Nagar home, in spite of the operation and the pain. And on 2nd Aug, sunday, his nany had to do the bhog. We had already talked to the gurudwara members regarding the bhog and we had planned a langar for his celebrations. So we went to Secunderabad gurudwara saahib where his path bhog was completed. Later they gave a "Saropa" to Sahej for his birthday. Then there was langar to celebrate his birthday. All in all a very satisfying birthday celebration.
To mark the closure for his celebrations, we went to Lifestyle and got him his remote car. Its a huge car which runs on a battery. And true to his nature, Sahej got himself a Harry Potter CD as well. And to add to that munna got him a basket ball as well. When we reached home, Sahej was busy opening his gifts. Then he completed his homework as fast as he could so that he can start watching his harry potter CD. But before watching the whole movie, he was fast asleep owing to a lot of restlessness related to 2 days of celebrations.
Hppy birthday Sahej. May Babaji offer his choicest blessings upon you and you get the best of everything. Waheguru bless you with everything good. May success be on the path you take and you remain the best kid that can ever be....
Blessings again...

A week gone by....

Hello
Yesterday me n Sahej went out to market to fetch some fruits. Now a days, I have made up a point to come early in the evenings to be with Sahej for some time. As he now wakes up early for his school, he generally sleeps by 10 in the night. So if we both come by 9 in the night, there is not much time left to interact with Sahej. So any one of us has to come early. Now a days my work load is less, so I reach by 6.30-7 in the evening and then me n Sahej either go out to get him chips, or we do the home work together. yesterday we went to market to fetch some fruits.
In the way, Sahej told me that when ever he reaches Oakridge(this school is on the way to his DPS), hsi bus starts dancing up and down. That is because there are speed breakers in front of the road bend to Oakridge. The thing which surprised me that he remembers hsi way to school and knows that the bend to Oakridge is there. Amazing that Sahej at his age knows and remembers the route to everywhere we go. He knows the road bend which leads to Ameerpet and can easily differentiate when we dont take that turn and go straight to Secunderabad. He can easily identify that we are going through a new route and then asks us which way the road goes.
On the way, I also went to ATM. When I inserted my card, Sahej told me "papa aapka card to theek hai"(Dad, your card is fine). I could not understand what he was pointing to at that point of time. Then he told me that "woh Kismet Konnection waala uncle hai na, uska card to kharab hai"(The guy who was in film Kismet Konnection, has his card problems, and it does not work fine for him). Actually the male lead in kismet Konnection always gets into trouble when he goes to ATM and his card is not accepted. Sahej remembers that thing and pointed to me that my card is fine and accepted. Whoa....
Its really amazing that Sahej remembers so tiny details. He has a great sense of understanding and knows when he has done wrong and when to say Sorry. This last sunday, when we were shopping in Central, he got restless and asked to buy a CD. When we refused, he got more restless and took his nanny forcibly to buy him a CD. I was a the bill counter and when I came back and knew that he has forcibly bought a CD, I got angry with him and told him that I wont talk to him. He kept on trying to get my attention, but I didnot relented. When we bought him his birthday gift of table chair, he came to me and sweetely told me "Soory papa". He knows how to bribe his way out....
Chalo will update more.

BDay Frenzy

Hello
This week is Sahej's 4th Bday. Its on this saturday. So last weekend, as mentioned earlier, was the time we rush through our shopping lists to collect the things needed. We went to a shop and got the return gifts, decoration materials, disposable plates and all the other stuff needed for his birthday celebrations. This is the first time that we are going to celebrate his birthday at home. His 1st birthday was a big bash party in a hotel with all the decorations, food and DJ done by the hotel and nothing by us :). So this time we have to prepare everything ourselves and so the rush. We then went to get Sahej his perfect birthday dress. He should wear everything new on this day as we used to do when we were small. When our middle income parents can do so much for us, we dont want to leave anything for our Sahej. But to our dismay, we were not able to find anything worth on Saturday, even after scouting to 3 super markets.
Anyways, we didnt lose hope and on Sunday went to Central. There we finally got the shirt and the capri we were looking for. Then we went to get Sahej his this years birthday gifts. We got him his table chair and also a basket ball shooting tower. This tower is really cool and he can use it for at least 3-4 years, if he wants to. We also discussed his party foods, but havent finalised anything right now.
This week is going to be a long week again with his studies, and party preparations going on.
Chalo will update more later.

1st Parent Teacher Meet @DPS

Hi
Today was the first PTC in DPS. We went and attaneded it. As soon as went to sit in front of his teacher, she said, are we Raj Inders parents. When we replied yes, the first words she spoke were "Naughty Child".
What a way to start a PTC.....
She told us that Sahej is good in school, doing well in studies. The only problems he has is that he speaks in hindi most of the times, and that he is too lazy to write the things given to him. His hindi speaking thing has been told to us by his Euro kids teacher as well. And then we had thought to start speaking in English to make Sahej understand it and to let him start picking the language. But after a couple of days, the steam used to blow away and we used to settle in the our old rhythm. But after hearing from her DPS teacher today, we have vowed to speak English in front of him and to make him understand and pick the language. I hope he learns soon enough.
The other problem is that he is slow to write, slow to be an outright lazy. And believe me he is lazy. When ever he gets the homework, he always asks me to help him get it done. I have to hold his hand when he is doing the work and that takes the energy away. He knows that papa is there and thus he does not put a lot of passion and interest in his task. I know this is wrong, but then He is starting to learn to write, and I thought that its best to guide him for some time before he picks up. Now we have got him extra set of text books to allow him practice at home. I can tell, next couple of months are going to be tough for him and for us.
Apart from that, his teacher told us that he is good otherwise. He has adapted well. She told us of one incident which made them laugh. She told that one day, some other teacher came to the class and gave some work. When one kid was not doing it, that teacher started scolding him. At that time, Mr. Raj Inder, true to his nature, put his foot down and protested to the teacher "aap kyon daant rahe ho, aap to hamare teacher bhi nahin ho"(why are you scolding, you are not our teacher). And that when he was not being scolded at all. Call of leadership.
The other thing his teacher told us was that when ever he is given something to write, he does not do it. He is lazy. Then she resorts to saying "OK, who ever will not finish the work, will not go home and stay here". To which Sahej responds "kyon nahin jaana ghar, ehhh jaana hai". And then he starts to write, but only for some short time.
So time to buckle up. We need to make him learn English fast, make him practice writing. Otherwise....he will be left behind...which we dont want.
So hard days ahead...

Another week passes by...

Hi
Last week Sahej was very ill. He was down with temperature, which at one time had reached 104. He was at home all this time. He used to call me and tel me "papa jaldi aa jao na ghar pe"(Papa come home early). He used to do the same to Munna as well by calling him, to which Munna used to reply "Main aaj jaldi aa jayungi, thoda kam kar ke"(I will reach home early by doing less work). However, as Munna was busy, I used to reach earlier than her and this seems to have pleased him somewhat and turned him into my supported, albeit for a few day only.
When ever Munna reached home, he used to remind her "mumma aaj bhi aapne thoda kaam nahin kia, aapne bahut jyaada kaam kia hai"(Mummy, you have not worked less today). During this time, he seemed to be backing me in every thing I said or did. He started calling Munna "Lalaji", which they used to call me before. He started screeming at Munna when ever she tried to outwit me. It was a welcome change to me at least.
Then on friday, we went out to have dinner. When we were returning, Munna as usual was trying to persuade me to go with her to shopping and I was trying to persuade her to go alone and do the stuff. At this Munna replied that he wont go alone. To this, our Sahe cutely replied to her "Mumma, main aapke saath chalunga na, agar aapko darr lagta hai to. Main to big hu, mujhe darr nahin lagta"(Mumma, I'll come with you if you scared. I am a big fellow now and dont get scared). Sweet na....
His birthday is coming real soon. We need to get a lot of work done before that. We need to get him a new dress, new shoes, and a writing table.
Chalo will update again later...

Down with Fever

Hi
Sahej has been down with fever this week. In fact a very high fever. Monday we forced him to go to school. In school he vomited after trying to take his lunch. When he came home, he was exhausted and his eyes were red. His nany thought that he must be tired after a long sunday. Sahej didnot eat much and slept. When he woke up, he was having high fever and his eyes and face were red. I came early from office to be with him. That day he had to go to a birthday party and when I reached home, he was trying to persuade his nanny to let him go to party. He was saying "main abhi birthday party pe jaunga, then at 7.30 maine sidharth bhaiya ke satah khelne hai. main nahin jaunga to sare baby kya bolenge, woh wahan pahuch jayenge"(I will go to birthday prty first and then at 7.30 I will go and play with Sidharth. If I dont go, what with the other babies say. ". I tried to persuade him for not going by lying that the party has been cancelled. He somehow agreed to it.
His temperature was really very high in the morning. He didnt eat much that day. We took him to the doctor for examination. He was given a gentle wash with cotton to lower his temperature.
Today he was feeling good. His temperature is down and he was a little more energetic. Hopefully his temperature goes away soon and he recovers fast.

School, Homework and CD's

Hello
Last week went as fast as it could have. With Sahej going to school on Saturdays as well for the time being, there has been no time to rest. Its just plain waking up at 6.30 in the morning, getting Sahej redy for school(no mean task), dropping him at the bus stop, taking a quick nap(which Jovita does not take and always teases me about), getting ready for office, working in office, going back home and getting ready for the next morning. It was a tire some week.
Sahej sometimes wakes up himself in the morning for school. Sometimes he has to be dragged from the bed. He is now-a-days playing with my ming phone(which he had broken). So he has the alarm set to 6.30 in the morning and when it rings, he sometimes stops it and then gets ready himself. Sometimes its very difficult for us to get him ready as he is no mood to wake up. Its these days that he is the toughest and it takes a lot of persuation to take him to bathroom and then to get his teethes brushed. Other days, he is so sweet to do his chores himself and go to school smiling.
As I told earlier, he is now-a-days playing with my ming touch screen phone. He was always trying to get hold of Jovita's new phone so that he can play with him. When we tried to stop him, he used to say "main kya karu, mujhe koi mobile nahi le ke deta :("(what should I do, nobody buys me a mobile phone). So then I decided that till the time, I dont get my ming phone repaired, he can use it. I even had some games installed on it for him to play. But now that he has it and is bored with it, he still asks for Jovita's phone. When asked why he wants mummy's phone when he has his, he replies "usmein miss call nahin hoti, to mujhe mummy ka phone chahiye"(that phone does not allow me to call, so I need mummy's phone". Such is life.
The other day, when the charging of this phone died, he asked his nanny to get it charged. She was busy and told him that she'll do it in a moment. Not of the waiting kind, he himself put the charger on. On knowing this, nanny told him not to do so again. Upon facing a situation in which this could be reported back to me, Sahej sir told nanny that "papa ko mat batana"(dont tell this to papa). But nanny finally told me and I gave Sahej a class. When the class was finished, he confronted his nanny "maine bola tha papa ko mat batana, phit kyon bataya"(i told you to not tell papa about this, why did you told him then).
So life goes on. This week Sahej has only five days to go. Saturday is off. So we can look forward to it. On sundays, we go to gurudwara saahib in Secunderabad in the morning. There is a person selling CD's just outside gurudwara. I had bought Sahej some CD's from there. So now he starts demanding CD's every time we go there. He has started saying "papa, yeh gurudwara to bahut achha hai, yahan roz aaya karo"(papa this gurudwara is very good, we should come here every day". I know the reason behind his liking for the place. On sundays, normally he doesnot sleep in the afternoon, so goes to sleep early in the night. But this sunday, we had some guests coming over for dinner. Their son Agam was expected and Sahej was excited to meet him. When he came to know that he is coming, I asked him to help mein getting the house in order, and he started doing it. He picked up a waste cloth and started dusting the things, he himself sorted his toys and put them in right place, he kept all his shoes in the closet and even got himself ready for the meeting. When they were slighly delayed, he kept asking "aaye nahin abhi, dekh ke aaye"(why haven't they reached yet, lets go and see them). When they eventually came, Sahej played with and hosted Agam really well. But due to this, he slept very late. And due to this when it was time to get ready for school today, he was not willing to get up and go to school. No persuation was working today. He was crying non-stop. It took a lot of time to get him ready eventually. His bus was already gone, so we had to take him to another stop for him to take his bus. But he was still crying and not ready to go to school. Probably we could have allowed him a rest today, but then thought that if we did it once, he will start using this as an excuse and then will demand more leaves. Little harsh on our end, but there was no other way, at least we thought so....
Chalo will talk again later about his adventures during the week.

Monkey Aala Re......

Hello
As last updated, the favourite monkey of our own Sahej was lost in Ooty. We came to know about this when we were leaving Ooty and all of a sudden Sahej demanded to play with his monkey. We searched the car and the baggage and realised we have not seen the monkey since we went to market in Ooty the first day and quickly reached the conclusion that he is lost. We tried to console Sahej, but he was not in a mood. When we reached home, he cried bitterly. But somehow he accepted the fact and created Sheep as his next best friend. But in thenight, when we were watching the snaps, Sahej again started crying for his monkey. All the Sahej snaps were with him and he surely was missing him. When we were watching the snaps, I saw that Sahej was carrying the monnkey when we went to Big Shop and was not having him when we left the shop. That gave me an idea that probably we can call Big Shop and ask them if they have found something. This idea hit the Bull Eye when Jovita called them and they agreed to search for it and when she called again, they told us that they have indeed found the monkey and will send him back via courier. We were ecstatic to hear the news, but we didnt told Sahej this news as we wanted to give him a surprise.
So on monday, when we reached home, Sahej was having his monkey in his hand. His smile was as long as river Nile and there was a definite spark in his eyes. He was very happy to be back with his monkey. When asked how the monkey came back(we had sold him the story that monkey was taken by the big moneky who had attacked munna in ooty), the story came out like this "woh na uncle ne big monkey ko coke pila di, to uska gala kharaba ho gaya and then uncle ne us moneky se mere monkey ko le lia"(Big Shop Uncle gave the Big monkey coke, when he dranked it, his throat began to pain and then uncle took my monkey from him and sent it to me).
So there it was......both the lost brothers were back again and happy as ever.

First Homework

Hello
So the day arrived when Sahej brought home his first official home work. Official because last saturday also he got a homework, but because Sahej was enjoying Ooty and had skipped School, he was sparred. But this saturday, he got his work cut out and got a complete page as his homework. He had to write "1" on the space marked in the book.
True to his part, Sahej was not easy to his home work as well. I tried getting it completed on Saturday itself. But after a couple of lines, he got bored and started giving excuses. Some of them were "mere haath mein pain ho rahi hai"(my hand hurts), "mujhe mosquito kaat gaya hai"(mosquito is biting me), "mujhe egg khana hai"(i need an egg to eat). So after much excuses he finally was able to resist doing his homework. He slept early that day and was sparred from completing the task.
Next day, Sunday, we went to Gurudware. We had decided that once we reach home, we need to get the homework completed because after that Sahej would be hard to catch. So when we reached home, we both grabbed Sahej and his book and his pencil and tried to get the work done. And his excuses started again. He started crying and fought hard to not do his work. Finally after much persuation and begging and then finally bribing him with my ming mobile, he finally agreed to complete the page. It took less then 10 minutes for him to complete the homework. He and both of us were very happy that he had done his first home work.
We are already worrying about the next home works to come our way. But hope Sahej starts taking his work seriously and helps us in getting the task done.
Thanks
Sukhmeet

Monkey Lost

Hi
Sahej has a moneky which he loves very much. He will take it to every where he goes, and show him everything like TV, views from his car etc. He even talks to him. He is his best friend if we can say so.
He took the monkey to Ooty as well. And on the first day in Ooty, took him to market as well. He showed him everything he was watching himself. Then he went into "Big Shop" and somehow forgot to take his monkey back to his hotel. The next day, we went to Coonoor and forgot everything about the monkey. When we were coming back to Bangalore and were on the way, Sahej demanded to have his monkey back. At that moment we realised that his moneky has been lost somewhere. We some how kept his hopes alive by telling him that the monkey was in the bags abd he will get it when we reach home. But deep inside we knew, his monkey is gone for ever and feared for the worse.
When at home, we searched for every thing in the bags and the monkey was not there. He was in Ooty somehere. Sahej was inconsolable, crying fior his monkey to be given back to him. After much deliberation, he accepted that his monley has been taken away by the big monkey which attacked Jovita and will not come back. He some how agreed to give Sheep his place. All this time he was crying and saying "ab main kiske saath soyunga, mujhe raat ko dar lagega"(With whom will I sleep now, I will be afraid in the night).
When we copied the pictures of the vacation, Sahej was having his monkey with him in every photo till the time he lost it. I feared for this that when he watches his snaps, he will cry again. And this is what happened. he was crying for his monkey all the time he watched the snaps. His plight was unbearable.
I got the idea while doing my daily path(maybe Babaji gave this idea) to call the 'Big Shop" and see if they have found something. We got the number and Jovita called them. They said they'll search for it and let us know. We called again next day and to our surprise and Sahej's good luck, they had indeed found the monkey some place in their shop and promised to courier us the same.
We were finally relieved to hear this. We have not yet told sahej about his found moneky. We are waiting for the courier to come back and thenw ant to see the reaction on his face when we gets back his moneky.
Hopefully it comes back safe and sound.
Till Then

Ooty

Hi
Last weekend we travelled to Ooty to have the long awaited and planned family vacation. This vacation had been a brain child of Jovita and she had been vouching for it for a long time. I had finally given my go ahead some time last month. Then we started planning for it and that took a long time as well. The train tickets were not available and it had to be delayed by a week to get the tickets. We even had to get tickets in tatkal for first part of the journey.
We went to Bangalore first by train. It was a joy ride with Sahej enjoying his train journey. He slept fine and was happy to be on train. From there we had the taxi booked which will take us to Ooty. In the way to Ooty, we stopped at Madhumalai Wilf Life Sanctuary. We were hoping to get the wild ride there but the timings of the ride were not suitable for us. So we skipped it for the next time. Here there are a lot of monkeys and you have to keep yourself away from them. Jovita was attacked by one monkey here when she was trying to eat peanuts here.
In the way from the Sanctuary, we saw a lot of animals like Deer, monkeys and elephants strolling freely. The drive was absolutely fantastic. The road to Ooty was lined by breath taking views and we could see clouds on the road. We checked into the hotel upon our arrival and to our dismay found that we could not go and see anything in Ooty as everything closes at 6. So we went and spent the time in the market. The markets in Ooty are very different from the North Hill stations. The only thing famous in ooty is home made chocolates. Anyways, we always find some place where we can buy things. This time around was no different and we foung the "Big Shop" on Cooperation road where we started the shopping. We shopped for DVD's, Sahej toys and games. Next morning we were to take the toy train ride from ooty to Coonoor. We already had the tickets so we just reached the railway station and boorded the train. The tickets have to be booked in advance as there is quite a rush for the journey. The journey is a good one taking us through the views, tunnels and finally reached Coonoor.
Coonoor is far more beautiful that Ooty. It has tea plantations and also very good natural views. We went to Sims park. Then we went to Lamb's Rock. It is a good place to see the nature at its best. Here Jovita was attacked the second time by monkeys which took the chips packet from her purse. From there we went to Kotagiri as some friends of Jovita had told her it was a beautiful place. The views on the way were indeed very good, but there is nothing else in Kotagiri. But then for some adventure, we went to see the catherine Falls. To our surprise, there was no fall at all. It was just a small fall and we just wasted the time to reach there. We went back to Ooty and then to Lake which we had heard was very big. The lake was indeed very big and was heavy on smell as well. we just eated some snacks there. Then took a toy train which takes you around the lake. Then we bought some toys for Sahej and some home made chocolates and came back to hotel.
The next day we were to start the journey back. We started around 30 minutes late. We were to stop at the Pykara Lake on the way. But we some how missed it and then went stratight to Mysore to see the Tipu Sultan Palace. The palace is a huge one and needed time to discover it, which we were short of. So we just had some photos clicked there. Sahej took the elephant ride there. At the end he said "kitna ganda tha woh. uske baal mujhe chhubh rahe the"(How much dirty he was. His hair were pricking me)., Then we dashed out for bangalore. We stopped for lunch and after it was finished, we realised we just did not had the time to reach back to bangalore to catch the Rajdhani. So we urged the driver to drive fast.
Every 10 min or so, we all were watching the clock and trying to look for the km's remaining. We were thinking of the sequence of Jab we Met where Kareena has to run and catch the train. We thought we'll have to do the same. But eventually with the grace of Babaji, we did managed to reach the railway station good 20 mins before the train started. We settled in, had the dinner and slept.
In the morning reached hyderabad and reached home to start the daily grind again.
Overall the trip was very good and a lot of fun.
Looking forward to the next vacation.
Bye

School Time Finally

Hi

So DPS finally opened for Sahej on 17th June. It was a hard morning for Sahej. He has been unwell for 2-3 days now. Earlier it was fever and yesterday it turned into cold. Last night, he had cried a lot while we were trying to do his juda and had vomited in the process. In the morning, it was hard to awake him, which was not unknown as Sahej normally wakes at around 11. So after a hard fought battle between him and us, he finally was ready to go to school. He got his bag, books, lunch box, water bottle and dashed away to school. As it was the first day, we were expected to drop him to school. We reached there and then searched for his class. He has been alloted Section D in Nursery. When we reached his class, Sahej went to greet his teacher, who incidentally was talking to one of the parents. He waited patiently for the teacher to finish her talk and then greeted her affectionately and also told her his name. Sure enough, Sahej knows how to make first impressions and also knows how to score marks among those who matter. Finally he settled in one of the chairs and was among the select few who were not crying for the fear of the school. He was busy shaking hands with other kids. We left him there to enjoy his first day. We then came back at around 12 to pick him from school. He had not touched his lunch box which was strange. We then dropped him back home and there he started relaxing. No mean feat for Sahej to wake up at 7 in the morning and get ready to school. He must have been dead tired.
His first few saturdays have been made working because school opened late. So some stress for Sahej in the coming days as he copes with the changed routine of getting up early and going to school.
Best of luck for his school and hope he performs good there.

School opens....or did it really opened

Hi
So this week school was to start. It was a hectic weekend as we had to do the last minute shopping for bags, pencils, rubbers, sharpeners, bag, pencil box, socks and other things. Then we had to get the dress also picked from the shop. So we started the weekend by going to Lifestyle and picking up the bag, and some other things. Then some things were picked from Central and the Noddy Shop. We picked the dress on Sunday and then there was a hectic search for a shop where we can get a "Patka" or a head gear for Sahej to wear to School. But to my amazement, I could not find a single shop in Hyderabad that sells the patkas. So finally I had to call Dad to semd me a courier of patkas.
Also Sahej got himself Roller Skates as a gift from his nani. And with the skates he got a doctor set absolutely free. So on weekends we had a resident doctor who was continousy checking our blood pressure, taking temparatures and giving us injections and then applying band aid on them. An interesting quote from Sahej came when I asked him "Beta ab bas kar"(Son, please stop), he replied "Oye, main beta thode hi hu, main to doctor hu"(Hey!I am not the son, I am the Doctor...). So how do you respond to these.
Then we had to get his socks and that was the most troublesome part. We went to Reabock Juniors and they told us that the only place where we can get the socks is in Himayat Nagar. No option. We had to go there and get the socks. It is good 25-30 Km from the place where we were. So we went there, got the socks. Then went to Minerva Coffee Shop for some Dosas and Coffee. While we were enjoying the lunch, there was some heavy rain going on outside. We found to our horror when we came out of the Coffee Shop that the road is completely immersed in water and the water is good 1 1.5 feet deep. So I went to get the car and when I open it, what I find inside is that the rain ater is inside the car. So a good experience of rain.
So Sahej was enjoying his last weekend before the school officially opened. He got himself a new Mr.Bean CD and was busy watching it whole weekend. He was so eager to see the new CD that he actually pushed us to complete our lunch early so that he can go home and watch the CD.
The day before his school opened, I came early from work and there came another of his smart lines "Aaj aap itni jaldi late kaise ho gaye". I could not answer this one.
So finally the day arrived when Sahej was to start the DPS. He had to wake up at 7.00 AM which is like very very early for him. Somehow he managed to get ready and off we went to drop him to DPS. And guys what came next was nothing short of an anti-climax. When we reached school, there was not a single soul there and we thought that we might have cam elate. But to our surprise, school had been delayed by a week and we were informed that now it will open on 17th. So bechara a completely ready Sahej was dropped home for a week of CD'd and POGO.
Chalo enjoy another break from School.
Take care

Transformation from Sahej to Raj Inder Singh

Hello
Yesterday night was a big night for Sahej.
He eventually started the transformation from being Sahej to Raj Inder Singh.
A transformation to being a full Sikh.
He had his hairs tied in a "Juda" for the first time in his life last night at around 12:05 AM on 1st June 2009.
I had always thought that when the moment comes to move from a pony clad Sahej to a Juda clad Raj Inder, Sahej is going to cause a ruckus. He is not going to easily give away his pony for somewhat paneful juda. But I was proved wrong all ends up. He not only calmly underwent the transformation, but also enjoyed being a full Sikh for the first time in his life. The day also meant that "sadaa"(ours) Sahej is not growing up fast. A step into future life.

He looked different. He acted differently for sure. To me he was looking just as pretty as he used to look with his pony. To his mother, he looked not that pretty. To himself, he looked good as he went to look himself in the mirror and then was smilling. So eventually he accepted the change in his personallity well.
This is also the last week of holidays for Sahej as the school opens next week. So this whole week will be kind of a practice time for him to get acquited to his new look, and for us to make sure we kind of perfect the task.
Chalo Sahej, enjoy the new look and hopefully you carry this look all your life.
Bye,

Bring Child to Work @CA

Hello Again
Yesterday i.e. 25th May was the Bring your child to work @CA day in my office. And sure Sahej was here. He had been asking Jovita again and again during these holidays to come along with her to office. Mainly because he can go to McD there. Also once when Jovita had taken her inside her office, he had played cricket there along with one of her colleague. So he is always looking to go to office and have a blast. Specially these holidays, as he has now where to go and when we are getting ready in the morning for office, he wakes up and asks "aaj aapki holiday hai", more so because he can then find someone to play with and also to beat up :).
So when my company planned this day, I told Sahej to get ready, and ready he was. But in spite of the knowledge of coming along with me to office, he has his own ways to do things. he woke up late, then started crying because he was not ready to brush, then again cried because he didnt wanted tto wash his face, and also cried because he didnt wanted to change his night shirt for the new T-Shirt his mom had bought him. He was to wear his new T-Shirt and new shorts. T-Shirt had a whacky slogan "I am not THIS bad always...sometimes I am worse". Cool slogan....
A couple of days before, he had a fight with the neighbours daughter and she had given Sahej a taste of her nails. She had pasted her nails all over his face and Sahej was left with bruises just under his right eye and all over his face. So he was not looking at his very best.
Anyways, finally he got ready when I threatened him to leave him back. We left for office, dropped Jovita and went to CA. There he got a bag filled with chocolates, crayons, pencil, and some passes. Then he went inside and got his face sketched and also got a Mickey Mouse tatoo on his hands. He played a lot of road rash and it was fun watching him play. He used to drop the mouse when ever the biker in the game got a crash, so that he can get back his bike. And while the biker was getting the bike back, Sahej used to put both his hand on his face and give an expression of utter enjoyment at the plight of the biker. He then learnt how to do kicks and punches for the biker and then enjoyed a lot dropping other bikers with his kicks and punches. And when this happened, he laughed so loudly that other people just lokked over and smilled at him. Once when he finished fifth(and thought that he has won), he told me "papa aapne to kamaal kar dia", because I was managing his directions while he was managing the speed and the punches.
He also enjoyed the rancho show and the magician also. In the end, he got tired and after getting hold of his second crayon set, an extra pencil, sharpner, rubber and some drawing papers and balloons, started marching towards exit to go home. He was tired at that time and went home n slept.
Aaj kal he is very fond of CD's and wants to get hold of all the CD's he knows about. That day he fought me to get Madagascar 2 and watched it a million times before returning it. Then he fought for "sumdog(slumdog)" and when that was not available, kept crying all night.
Last night when I asked him to sleep, he told me "main dark mein nahin sota, mujhe neend nahin aayee", I told him to go downstairs and sit with HIM. He asked whom, I replied the same person who opens the doors when Sahej goes out. And he replied "woh watch waala person, woh MAN waala person".
Also last night for the first time I suppose, he took my side. When me n jovita had a little friendly fight, he took my side and told jovita to not beat his father. Also he came with me when I threatened to go out of room and actually came along with me. When Jovita came to take him back, he was not ready. really sweet of you Sahej.

Chalo I will update some more later.

Monkey Mera Dost

Haanji Sahej Ji
Still enjoying the long holidays at home, still watching the Mr.Beans, shararati(takeshi's castle), bhootnath n jab we met.
You have again started loving your monkey all over again. You seemed to have fogotten him for a few days, but now he is back in ur hands. You take him everywhere. When I ask you if you want milk, you respond by saying "isse puchho"(ask him i.e. monkey). When I take you out, you say "isne bhi jaana hai"(he wants to go as well). When you some how leave him at home, you say "woh thak gaya tha na, so ab nini kar raha hai"9he was tired, so is sleeping now). You are the new Mr.Bean of our household.
You are learning new things. Aaj kal aap khana lagate ho. You help in setting up the dinner by taking the plates, spoons etc to the room. Then you come to me and say "papa khana laga dia hai, ab aa jao na"(dinner is ready, plz come soon).
When ever some one comes to our home, like that day when gagan n dipti came, you asked dipti"isko kyon le aaye"(why did you bring him i.r. gagan). When dipti came again the next day in the morning, you asked her again "aap dubara kyon aa gaye"(why have you come again).
Just a little time left now for the school to be opened. So enjoy the days to the fullest.
Bye

Holidays @Home

Hello Sahej

So you must be enjoying your longgggggggg holidays.
Your holidays will be over in first week on June and you will join the DPS. Till thne its fun n frolic time.
You seem to have your routine set. Everyday you wake up, watch either POGO or CD. Keep doing it all day and then in the night you frustrate us by again watching POGO and that Mr. Bean of yours. And then frustrate us even more by not sleeping. You seem to have a boundless amount of energy and you keep bouncing up and down the moment you wake  up to the moment you goto sleep. Waise now-a-days when we tell you to go sleep at night, your answer is "main sun mein sota hu, dark mein nahin".

These past days, you did showed some very bad behaviour. You are these days not doing your own paste, we need to get your hands tied and then do it forcibly. You tend to rebuke me on every single topic. You fight a lot and you dont follow many of our instructions. But still you are a darling baby. Sometimes, you behave so nicely that we aresimply  awestruck.

Now for some hilarious talk. You know when your mom went to office wearing a Sari, you told her "mummu sari na pehna karo, ismein tummy se shame shame hoti hai". Can you believe this?Ill add more if I can remember it.

Chalo time for a break. Ill update more in due time.
Take care

Fun on Anniversary

Hello Again
Last week we celebrated our 6th Anniversary. 6 years.....
Cant imagine that 6 years have passed by. I still remember the day when I proposed Jovita....and hold your breath....she said YES. And the journey began.
Now 6 years after the marriage, we have a little wonder to give us company. The little wonder named Sahej is the joy of our lives. He brings constant laughs, headaches into our lives. Laughs becauses his actions are so cute, his questions sometimes so hilarious and his observations so startling that we wonder if he is still not 4 years old.
So on the 14th we went out with complete family package which includes both our parents and the most important member of the entourage, Sahej. We went for lunch to Barbeque Nation, which was enjoyable. Then we lingered on to where we should spend the rest of the day and finally managed to move to Prasadz which Jovita has been constantly haggling about to go and see. So we went there and had a lot of fun. We first went to see the Mirror maze and it was amazing. Then Sahej n his mumma went for a 4D movie which they thoroghly enjoyed. After that we went to see the Bhoot Bangla. The visit was supposed to drive us crazy, but actually Jovita was the one which might have scarred the hell out of the so-called ghosts inside the bangla. Anyways we had a laugh at the ghosts and on one instance, a couple who went alongside us were touching the hairs of one of the ghosts to see what actually he was wearing. We were asking the ghosts for the route inside. So all in all it was not scarry. But the day was fun....
Sahej is spending his days at home these days. Its his holidays. So he is as lazy as one can be. Waking at around 11 in the morning.....playing all day long, watching Mr. bean on TV, watching his "ball waale gaane" which is actually 9XM, and then crying when we try to get him to sleep by threatening to call watchman.  I am still amazed by the energy he shows. Whether its 12 in the morning or 1 in the night. He is constantly moving, running, jumping without showing any thing remotely lethargic.
And he is getting smarted by the day. That day when I was watching IPL and he had to watch Mr. Bean, I sent him to the other room. He went there and set the channel on which IPL was coming on that TV and called me that "Papa aapka IPL aa raha hai". When I went to see what was he saying, he told me to sit there and watch the match there in that TV while he came back to his room and to his big TV and watched Mr. Bean there. So, I was practically thrown out of my room by a 4 year kid....

Keep going son....
Chalo will write some time again next week with some time next week.
Bye

Holidays started

Hello Sahej Ji

So how r u?
Its been a week that I last wrote to you.
At this time, you are at home, enjoying your long vacations, probably watching Bhootnath nth time and trying to get new ideas from the CD remote control.
Seriously Sahej, how do you manage this.
You seem to have a mastery of learning new things, be it remote control or mobile or a new game or new acts.
I still remember the day when you taught me how to get the right click menu options on my motorola ming touch screen phone. I was amazed to see you find the songs, and play them. I also remember your finding "Chini Kum" song the first time when you were barely 18 mnths old. you learnt your first alphabet "C" from Cheeni Kum :)
I also remember the day when we first watched "Dhamaal", and all the people in it were searching for a "W" to get the treasure and when they show 4 big palm trees inclined in a way to form a big W, you screemed at them to tell them "yeh hai W, yeh hai W'. Kamaal hai sir ji.....
Last night also when I reached home, you were busy watching Bhootnath and then you showed me some new tricks on the CD menu which I didnt knew. Hats off to you Sahej....

Last week we attended your Parents Teacher Meet(PTM) in Euro Kids. Sangeeta madam was all praises for you. She said you are perfect in studies. She will want more kids like you in her class. She told us that when ever she teaches a thing in class, you generally always know the thing beforehand. Or even if you do not know it, you grasp it in no time and then tel others what it is. The teacher when asks others to repeat the thing, the students reply back "Raj Inder se poochho, usko pata hai". Last week you also got the DVD of your annual day from school. It didnt worked on the CD player and then you told the teacher "Aisee CD kyon dete ho jo chalti nahin hai. Papa ne yahan lagyee then wahan lagayee par chali hi nahin" and then your mam happily replied "I will get it changed". When your mam once got angry with you as you were not following her orders and scolded you, you tol her "Aise baat kyon kar rahe ho, pyaar se bolo na". When you again did not listened to her and she said "I am not talking to you", you sweetly replied "mat karo baat, main to DPS ja raha hu, waapis nahin aayunga". Bechari mam.

Aaj kal aap bhootnath dekhte dekhte aalu ke paranthe khaate hai. Good hai.
We will be getting your DPS books, black shoes n socks and dress this weekend probably.
Chalo take care...
njoy your holidays....
Bye...
Love you saheji...

Last Week in EuroKids

Sahej

So you are getting bigger and smarter by the day.
This is your last week in EuroKids. The school closes this friday i.e 3rd April. Last week we went to your Graduation day. Yes you have read correctly and I have not made a blunder here. Last week thursday i.e. 26th March 2009 was your Graduation Day in which you passed from EuroKids play way to Euro Juniors. You, along with a couple of your classmates were given a tag of "Communicator" on stage. Your teacher told everybody that you are the second teacher of the class and when ever she is not there you hold the fort. Also your principal told everyone that when the practice for the annual day in which you had performed Bhangra(Yes...you did a bhangra on stage and I have a CD recording to prove it) were over you told that "practice kyon nahin karwate bale bale ki, ABC to mummy padha degi, bale bale ki practice karwayo"

Now coming to Annual Day. Your annual day was held in Ravindra Bharti Auditorium in Hyderabad. You were to perform Bhangra on "Gud Nalo Ishq Mitha" song. And you did a pretty good job. You enjoyed yourselves a lot and dance was very good. Your teacher had asked your mom to request you to keep yourself sticking to your place and not keep running on the stage, which we had all hoped for. But you stick to the plan and did a wonderful job. Earlier in your race which was held in Oct 2009, you were supposed to run with a girl, come to a place where jackets were placed, help the girl wear the jacket and then run to the finish spot. You did the first part fine of running and coming to the place where the jacket was placed. After that the girl tried to put on the jacket which you also helped her do, but you both failed. She kept trying and you as usual kept jumping and doing something or the other. In the end, you were not among the toppers but still got yourself a good medal.

You have a long vacation coming up. After which, you are about to start a new and exciting phase in your life. You are going to DPS this June. A very prestigious school. You will have to change a lot in yourselves. First of all being getting up early.....very early in fact. Your bus will go at 7.15...so get up by 6.30. Very difficult task which I agree with you. But which needs to be done.

So Sahej ji.........now a days you watch only BANKU bhaiya on TV. You get up in the morning and say "Papa CD laga do", you get ready n go to school and then come back n drop your bags and run to your room and say "CD laga do". You keep watching BhootNath again and again. This is an advancement over "Jab We Met" and "Race", which were your initial favorites.

I have started this mail conversations with you because I need you to know what you used to do when you were small. One day you will be big enough to access this mail id, read mails, send mails to your friends. I wanted you to take yourself on the journey of your adulthood. I had wanted to set up a blog where I could record your journey, but have not been successful so far. So took this email route. Hope you dont get too bored with this.

I also wanted you to give some clarifications on your name. You might consider your name too old for your generation. But do keep in mind that you are a blessing given to us by Babaji and Veerji gave us the vision to th epath to get you. The name is also given By Veerji himself and to not name you as per Him would have been a contempt which we did not want to do. So named you Raj Inder with a space in between the two word to give a some what modern touch to a old name.

Ill also give you a little insight into your deeds these days. You are much smarter for your age. You are a great story teller and can plan and execute any story at any given time. You can pass the blame on anybody(which you normally do it on me). Yesterday itself you did a smart enough mischief. you were watching bhootnath when dadi started peeking into your room. You warned her to not do so and when she repeated, you got up and closed your door. A little snippet of things to come in future....

Chalo...
Ill close it here. Will keep updating your mail id with these mails......
Hope you read these blogs one day...

Bye n Take Care
Have a good n njoyable last week in EuroKids
