1st Parent Teacher Meet @DPS

Hi
Today was the first PTC in DPS. We went and attaneded it. As soon as went to sit in front of his teacher, she said, are we Raj Inders parents. When we replied yes, the first words she spoke were "Naughty Child".
What a way to start a PTC.....
She told us that Sahej is good in school, doing well in studies. The only problems he has is that he speaks in hindi most of the times, and that he is too lazy to write the things given to him. His hindi speaking thing has been told to us by his Euro kids teacher as well. And then we had thought to start speaking in English to make Sahej understand it and to let him start picking the language. But after a couple of days, the steam used to blow away and we used to settle in the our old rhythm. But after hearing from her DPS teacher today, we have vowed to speak English in front of him and to make him understand and pick the language. I hope he learns soon enough.
The other problem is that he is slow to write, slow to be an outright lazy. And believe me he is lazy. When ever he gets the homework, he always asks me to help him get it done. I have to hold his hand when he is doing the work and that takes the energy away. He knows that papa is there and thus he does not put a lot of passion and interest in his task. I know this is wrong, but then He is starting to learn to write, and I thought that its best to guide him for some time before he picks up. Now we have got him extra set of text books to allow him practice at home. I can tell, next couple of months are going to be tough for him and for us.
Apart from that, his teacher told us that he is good otherwise. He has adapted well. She told us of one incident which made them laugh. She told that one day, some other teacher came to the class and gave some work. When one kid was not doing it, that teacher started scolding him. At that time, Mr. Raj Inder, true to his nature, put his foot down and protested to the teacher "aap kyon daant rahe ho, aap to hamare teacher bhi nahin ho"(why are you scolding, you are not our teacher). And that when he was not being scolded at all. Call of leadership.
The other thing his teacher told us was that when ever he is given something to write, he does not do it. He is lazy. Then she resorts to saying "OK, who ever will not finish the work, will not go home and stay here". To which Sahej responds "kyon nahin jaana ghar, ehhh jaana hai". And then he starts to write, but only for some short time.
So time to buckle up. We need to make him learn English fast, make him practice writing. Otherwise....he will be left behind...which we dont want.
So hard days ahead...
Bye
