Homework in Bus

How many of us would be happy doing their homeworks in the bus while coming back from School? Not many, right. But not our Sahej. These days, when Sahej brings his homework, after completing it, I try to be proactive and make him practice the work his teacher is going to do next. So he had practiced writing cursive Nine-Ten a day before and when he got the same to write for his homework, he started doing his homework on the way back from school in the bus itself. Yes sir, you have read it right, he started doing it in the bus itself. Hmmm........love of work or what!!!!!

When asked why did he do so, the simple reply was "mujhe homework karna achha lagta hai na"(I like doing the homework, thats why), And when asked how he managed this feat considering that the bus is moving and its difficult to write in a moving bus, the reply was "jab bus rukti thi to write kar leta tha, jab chalti to ruk jata tha"(When it stocked, I wrote, when it started, I stopped). So simple....

Amazing....Committed....what else!!!!

This weekend we were in Hyper-city and let me clarify, its very difficult to control kids in Hyper-city because the temptations are huge. There are toys, balloons and books and what not. And Sahej also wants these things. But when I told him that he wont be getting any toys today, after much deliberations and inquiry and labor on his part, he finally relented and agreed to just have a spiderman book instead. And I can tell you, if there was some other kid, he would have fought for a toy. Sahej also does the same sometimes, but usually he is a sweetheart and can be manipulated to accept what we want.

Earlier we had lunch in Zafran, an upmarket restaurant in Banjara Hill. There he was so excited to see the fishes in the small tanks they had. He had his pastries and kheer. When tempted by the waiter there to have an cold drink, he adoringly refused it and instead opted for the pastry. Sweet na!!!!! He had a blast there, eating the pastries, friums, ice cream, and the french fries.

And he did his homework as well. And that too, he completed in 10 minutes flat so that he will be able to come with us to the market.

Night Before School

The night before, he was all excited once again and posed in his now own style for the snaps. In the snaps can be seen in his various moods, also carrying his motorbike balloon which he got from hyper-city.

Seems to be not frightened by the prospect of starting the grinding routine of getting up early, going to school and doing the homework almost every day.

School Opens.................Finally

Finally the school has reopened after 2 months and 7 days of summer vacations.

Sahej was being prepared all day Sunday for school. he was mentally prepared to sleep early so that he can wake up early. And thus starts a time for us as well, when we will no longer be able to sleep late and wake up late. We also will need to sleep early and wake up well before he wakes up.

Sahej kept telling me that I need to call him once in the morning to wake up and he will do the same. But I was in way going to accept that, knowing how difficult it would be for him to wake up before 7 in the morning, when he has got used to keep sleeping till 10-10:30 during his vacations.

But Sahej, true to his words, woke up without creating much fuss. He asked for 2 minutes from me when I shook him in the morning. And before those 2 minutes were over, he was up and running to the bathroom, to my surprise.

He got ready pretty fast and then wen to his bus stop and was the first kid to reach there. Pretty excited to be back to his routine, I must say.
