Vani-sed

Hello
These days Sahej seems to be smitten by Vani, the girl in his class.
Every time something happens, Sahej tells us about how Vani does this and how Vani does that.
When told to wake up early, he replies "I will ask Vani at what time she wakes up", when asked why does he want to do this, the reply is "Arre, then we can reach school together na!!!" Hmmm.
And then the next day, the reply comes "Vani wakes up at 6 in the morning. I also want to wake up at 6. Papa plz wake me up at 6". Although, he wakes up at 6:40 in a very difficult condition and that too after so many calls to wake up. :)
When his nani was eating Idlis that day, he told nani "Vani also eats Idli this way.". Now whatttt.
When today I asked him how is Vani, he sadly replied "papa my seat got changed and Vani sat at some other place". Hmmmmm......the sadness was there to see and the pain was there.....

But academically, Sahej is doing good these days. Touch wood. He gets Stars sometimes and his teachers do appreciate his work. Today he got a star on his hand because he did good work and behaved properly.
Also Sahej won himself a consolation prize in Calligraphy Contest. Well done Sahej. Keep it up baby.....

Walking Calender

Hello

Sahej is soon becoming a walking calender of the sorts.
He has now-a-days a habit of asking everything in terms of date/time. Whenever we say "1 minute", he asks "tell me the time". Everything around him is metered in terms of time and remembered in terms of date. Tell him any date and ask him to tell what twas the day on this date, he will think about for a minute and then tell the exact day. Not joking.....that day, me n Jovita tried this and he answered all our queries correctly. Don't know how he has the calender in his mind, but my guess is he remembers every saturday and Sunday dates and then when any date is given to him, he just calculates based on the date on the nearest Saturday/Sunday. Pretty amazing....
And now for the bad part. Bechara Sahej. His school has decided to stop all Saturday offs, and to rub salt in the wounds, have also decided to go away with Winter vacations. Hmmmm...Thats a blow to Sahej as how will he plan his Saturdays now. He has a fixed plan for these days and that is made days ahead. He will remember the movies which are coming, the channels on which they will be coming and the time. So that he does not miss out on his movies. But what happens now.....
Yesterday when I got the news and I was teasing him for this news, he just smiled and answered "Thats OK Papa. I like to go to school. I want to study". Pretty brave front shown by you my dear son.
Last night, Sahej while going to sleep was telling me about a weird dream he had the night before. He told me in that dream, he was along with Jovita and his nanny. When I asked why was I not in the dream, he smiled, thought for a moment and gave the answer. Wanna know what it was. Hold it......He told me "You were not in the dream because Papa you were in the toilet". Hmmmm....imaginations and story making are ingrained in kids....

Extreme Cycling

Hello
These days Sahej is enjoying his Dushera Holidays. He has 10 days off from School. Whats more interesting is that he does not even has any homework to do. Bus wake up in the morning, do some lazy stuff, then watch TV, then watch some movies, then play some games, then go down in the evening and then watch TV. What more can you ask from life.....Hmmmmm...m jealous.
Yesterday I took Sahej along with me to get some eggs from the local market near the house. He was on his cycle and was cycling very good. He was not cycling fast, he was ringing the bell if someone came in front of him. Overall very safe cycling. But it doesn't take long to change that.
When I reached the shop and bought the eggs, Sahej was on the platform that separates the shop from the road. There were 2 stairs that separated the shop and the platform. He then picked his cycle and kept that on level to the shop on top of those 2 stairs. And then the next moment, he said "Papa dekho" (See papa). The time that I see and turn around, I don't know what overcomes him, and he peddles his cycle from those stairs. And the next voice I hear is phatak.....uuuuuuuhhhhhhhhuuuuuu..........papaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaa........................
aaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaahhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh
He was crying to be precise. Here is what happened. He tried to do extreme cycling from those 2 stairs and thought that he would be able to cycle around them, which unfortunately did not happen and he fell on top of his cycle. He got an injury on his legs. He cried for some time more due to shock, but then was composed and came back home with me. Hmmmm
These days, Sahej is in habit of asking time and date for everything. And I mean everything. Like for example, if he sees a picture, he wants to know when is that picture coming, or when did we saw that. For any toy, he wants to know the time and date when that toy was bought. For us, he wants to know when we go to office, when we come back, when we do our breakfast and etc.
He is acting like a walking calender these days. You speak about any date and he will be able to tell you which day it was, and any special thing about that day. Hmmmm
That day when I told him that his dada-dadi are coming and what does he want them to bring. He thought for some time and then came up with his wish list. The first thing was another gun, when I told him that he has many guns and can have something else, he again thought and said they can bring me small batteries for my video game. When I told him that even I will get him batteries, he asked for a small TV for his room. Then he asked for a powder for himself. Hmmm...Small kids...small demands....and strange demands.
