2 weeks- English Speaking

Hello
Its been 2 weeks now that the Project English has been launched in our house. Sahej has been told to speak in English only with me and Jovita. With others, he can speak in Hindi if he likes.
And the results have been more than satisfactory. When we started, Sahej was able to speak English in broken sentences, which were hard to understand and had little meaning. But now, he is able to convey his message in English most of the times, and at others if he is not, he first speaks in hindi to know what needs to be said in English and then repeats the same in English to get the grasp of the things.
Overall the results are more than what we had expected. Initially it was difficult to cajole him into accepting this change. But now, when he is speaking to nani, he is speaking in hindi, and then when he starts speaking to me, he immediately starts speaking in English. So as to speak, the switch is now in place. And we hope that with time his English will improve and he will be able to stand up and express himself when ever needed.
As he is going to Jain these days, he can sleep till 9 or 9:15, which is actually quite good for him and me as well :). So now-a-days, when I ask him to wake up, he does not ask for 2 minutes as he used to do when going for DPS. So when a couple of days back in the afternoon, after coming from school, he asked his nani to give him something, and nani was trying to sleep, and she told him that give her 2 minutes, his reply was a prompt "papa mujhe aaj kal 2 minutes nahin dete, so nani jaldi utho"(Papa doesn't give me 2 minutes these days when I wake up, so I won't give u either, so wake up fast).
Yesterday was mother's day. Sahej wished Jovita the same and when Jovita asked for a gift, he thought for some time, and then came up with the idea that he will order a Pizza for her and also came up remembering the number of a pizza corner, which though was not correct, but the willingness and his attitude was for all to see. He showed that he can take care and was ready to get her a gift.
Chalo more later.
Bye

Summer Vacations

Hello
Summer vacations have started for Sahej. They will keep on going till first week of July. Its quite hot these days and rightfully schools have been shut down.
But what will kids do at home. For the first week, Sahej was busy with playing Burnout 3 and other games and watching movies and pogo. But then with time he began to get bored. So we decided to put him in a summer camp. We have put him in Jain heritage in the morning batch from 9.30 to 12.30. They will have dance classes, fun with clay, aerobics and fun with maths. Anyways, what ever he does there doesn't matter. What matters is that his time gets passed and he enjoys himself.
So these days, Sahej wakes up smiling because he knows he is going to a school where there is no home work, just fun and dance. He gets some snacks and juice there. He is very happy to go there.
Chalo will update more later

Prep Begins....Time for Study

Hello
Prep has started for Sahej. And time to begin study as well. There will be some 20 days of study and then Sahej will have a 2 months summer holidays. And due to this small interval of study, the school is trying their best to break the kids back with the load of homework and study. Sahej has now started getting homework for cursive writings and in school he has started learning hindi as well.
Cursive writing is a difficult thing for kids his age. So Sahej was little apprehensive to start writing in cursive as was expected. But one Sunday, I decided enough was enough. I sat with him for a good part of 5 hours and taught him how to write the things. And the results were good as well. For the next 3 days consecutively, Sahej got a star in his work. Nice job Sahej. Now Sahej is able to write almost half of the alphabets in cursive and also knows some hindi alphabets.
In some days, his summer vacations will start and then Sahej will join some summer camps and enjoy the break.
Take care

Vacations time.....

Hello
So vacations have started for Sahej after finishing his Nursery. Its a small off of about 10 days after which his Prep is going to start. Sahej as usual is enjoying playing games, watching TV and doing a full on masti with dada- dadi. As dada-dadi are here for a few days only, they are pampering him a lot and Sahej is basking in the glory. he has assumed a status of a king with us being his fellows. He has stopped listening to us altogether and has started doing mischiefs which only he can do. He will go to the neighbors house, knock their doors, and come back running. He will take their sleepers placed outside their doors and hide them. He keeps taking pangas with dadi. In the nutshell he is just enjoying his offs and the pampering he is getting.
Chalo enjoy the break Sahej

A+ Nursery finished

Hello
Long time no blogs. Have been busy with the work.
In the meantime, Sahej has finished his Nursery(LKG) in DPS. He got a handsome A+ in his class. His teachers were full of praise for him when they gave us his report card. The told us that his hand writing is very good, very neat. he is very quick in his studies. Only thing is that is is very naughty, doesn't listen to them much and things like that. But who was listening. We were very happy to hear that our kidu, Saheji, has got an A+. Good job done Sahej. Keep it up. May babaji shower his choicest blessings on you and you get all the success and happiness that you deserve.
Sahej also got a prize from his teacher for "Excellence in Academic Studies". It was a story book. And a certificate for performing so well in class.
Then we got Sahej new books for his Prep class which will start in a week's time. Also got some extra books from the sale counter for him to ponder upon.
He also got blessings from his dada-dadi and nanni. And it was decided that every one will get some gift for Sahej for his performance. After all Sahej has done all the hard work and now deserved the accolades he was getting. So his mommy got him a Wild life game. I also got him some games. His dada-dadi got him a scooter, which he was very happy to get and has been driving ever since he got it.
Now he will be having his holidays before his Prep starts.
So enjoy the vacations Sahej.
Take care
