Yeh Kitni time mein bante hai

Hello
Last week when we went out for lunch, we chose Tandoor, a punjabi restaurant in Hyderabad.
Normally when ever we go out for food, Sahej is a little skeptical about the food and does not eat much. He just takes ice cream or cakes, nothing more. So when we went to Tandoor, we were in for a surprise.
There in the snacks, they had Potato Pakodas which were very thin in width and quite tasty. Sahej took one to taste and liked it instantly. And then started his little antics which kept us amused through out the day. He liked the pakodas very much and demanded more every time his plate was empty and the pakodas finished. Finally the waiter was also tired of serving them again and again and kept a whole plate of pakodas in front of him and he, to his credit, finished all of them.
He was liking them so much that he started esquiring us about its ingredients and the way it is made. When we had explained him the process, he started asking how much time it takes to make them. Then he started asking one by one from each one of us that whether we know how to make them. "Aapko aate hai yeh banane" (Do you know how to make them).
When satisfied that his mummy and nanny know how to make them, he turned towards me and asked me very innocently "Aapko aate hai yeh banane". When I replied that I really dont know how to make them, he asked me again with the same innocent voice 'Kya aapki mummy ko aate hi yeh banane" (Does your mother know how to make them). :)
Now what was that. He was trying to gather as much information as possible about the dish and at the same time was trying to figure out who knows how to make them. Even securing the knowledge that when his nany is not here and his dady is here, he is not left with an option that he will not be able to eat his favourite pakodas.
Wonder how far these kids can think.
Really amazing na.

Here Comes The Discipline Secretary

Hello
Sahej was chose THE DISCIPLINE SECRETARY of his class. No need to feel amazed, or laugh. Its not a joke...its serious....
He was chosen as the Discipline Secretary from a batch of 40 odd students in his class. This news in fact was hard to believe for us in starting, but then he showed us the batch and the note from his teacher. And then reality stuck in. He was made the DS probably because he must be the naughtiest kid in the class. As his EuroKids teacher used to say, "He is the monitor of the class, a true DON". In Eurokids as well, he used to keep other students in check and all the students used to look up to him to see what to do next. Anyways, he made us proud by getting himself a batch of DS.
So everyday in the morning, he will goto school wearing this batch and will probably bully other kids. Way to go Sahej....
Sahej has gone to school today after 5 days of holidays. Friday, Monday and Tuesday were his holidays and he had the blast during these off days. He watched TV from morning till dusk and then was ready for even more TV if we had not intervened and stopped him. He also enjoyed his daily outings in the Cyber Pearl building where we used to go for his nanny's physiotherapy sessions. He knows every nook and crook of the building now and enjoys the most watching the fountains in that building.
During this time, Sahej also learnt how to sing "Ae mere watan ke logon". He was to participate in the Independence Day celebrations in his school. He was to sing this song along with some of his friends. So that day he went to school dressed in the traditional dress and ready to sing the song. Its really amazing to hear him sing that song and when in between he forgets the lines, he just sings the tune of the song. Really fantastic....
These days, Sahej has also started taking the blame for the wrong things upon himself. he has matured a lot in a few months time. Every time something bad happens, he takes it upon himself to take the blame on himself. As last night, when he was trying to sit in my lap and tried to balance, his hand touched the table and my cold drink on table fell down, he took the blame on himself and then started cleaning the table. Very sweet of you Sahej, but my dear Sahej, this is the time when you are supposed to do these kind of things and not the time to take the blame on yourself. Please keep doing childish stuff for now...
Will post more later.
Bye

Happy BDay Sahej

Hello
Sahej celebrated his 5th Bday on Sunday, 1st August.
And he had a very happy birthday....
His birthday preparations could only be started Friday night as for the last few days munna had been keeping unwell. So Friday night we started cleaning operation. This continued Saturday morning as well. After which we went to market to buy Sahej his gift and but things for the party as well. Sahej had asked for a white board for his birthday. So we went and got him a 3X2 feet white board and some other smaller things as his present. Then we also went and got the party needs and the return gifts. Came back home crashing and slept. The next day was the big day for Sahej.
When Sahej was about to sleep, he told me how he wanted to wake up. he told me that when he wakes up, I should wish him Happy Birthday. Hmmmm
So on 1st Aug, when Sahej ji woke up, he did what only he could do. He just brought to my notice that he has indeed woken up and when I went to what he was trying to tell me, he just gave me a mysterious smile which I understood and then we all came and sang Happy Birthday for him.
And his smile had everything in it....
We gave sahej a combination of gifts which included a wrist watch, a wax machine, a bubble factory, a hot wheels track and some smaller stuffs. he was most existed with his wrist watch which he wore instantly and then for the whole day was not ready to part with it.
So the day dragged on. We went to gurudwara saheb to get the babaji's blessings. And ginded ourselves for the party for the rest of the day.
Sahej wore his new clothes witha white T-Shirt over which he wore a blue check shirt. He was looking quite a hunk I must say. Later in the evening as his friends started coming in, the party was well and truly on. H e was having a pretty gr8 time enjoying every moment.
Then the time came for cake cutting. Sahej had earlier opted for the cake with Tom and Jerry cartoon character on it. The cake looked fantastic and Sahej was very happy to actually see it. When asked which portion he wants to eat, he told that he wants to eat the whole thing. Hmmm...Then eventually he agreed to eat Jerry mouse.
By the time party was winding down, Sahej had also tired. But still he was jumping and running and dancing. At 8, he told me he had to watch Raavan, which was coming on TV that day. What a TV Buff we have.....
Eventually the party ended and Sahej also was too tired to even stand.
He slept a peaceful and contended sleep.
May babaji bless sahej with is choicest blessings and he gets what ever is good for him.
Take care
