B'Day Coming

Hello

These last few days just flew by. With Sahej doing a good job at school and getting stars at regular intervals. His cursive writing is improving and he has also started getting hold of his Hindi writings, with getting stars in both of these.

He has also worked hard to get at this position. He is a hard working kid who has a gr8 interest in reading and trying out things himself. These days, he takes with him a rough notebook to school so that on the way back from school in the bus, he can practice. Wow....How many kids will do that....

Also his birthday is fast approaching. Its on 1st august. I somehow was able to convince him that his bday is not on 1st Aug, but its on 11th Jan. When he asked me why we celebrated his bday on 1st then last year, I told him that we did it by mistake and this year we will celebrate on 11thJan. Poor fellow....he took the bait and then started telling everyone that his bday is indeed on 11th jan.

But date not-withstanding, he is ready with his list of gifts that he wants on his bday. He wants a black board......yes a black board so that he can practice. Hmmmmmm.....what commitment.

Also he wants a Tom & Jerry CD volume 6, a chhota bheem CD, probably a new PS2 game, and so on and so forth. He also wants to take chocolates for his friends in school. I remember the time when I was a kid and was given 20 rupees by my father on my bday. I bought 200 toffees(yes 200....at that time, we used to get a ParleG toffee for 10 paise)....and took them to school.

This weekend, we are going to buy Sahej his bday gift and also his new dress that he will wear on his bday. He will also go and chose his bday cake. Hmmmm...lucky kid.

Homework, School, Burnout....

Hello

Last week few by with Sahej having more or less the same routine. Everyday, he was being forced to get up at around 6:30, with him being literally forced down the bed not later than 6:45 so that he can get ready for the bus by 7:00 AM. Bechara bachha.....n more bechare hum.....

Then after coming from School, he used to have lunch, watch some TV or movie on DVD and then sleep. Wake up and eat some more and then wait for me to come from office. Then me n Sahej used to play cricket, football and then when he gets tired of playing, either do the home work or play PS2 game Burnout.

After that, we used to have dinner and then at 10:00 he is again hauled up and brought to bed to sleep so that he can again start the cycle the next day......

Hmmmm....quite a routine....

In between all these things, Sahej always comes up with one or more of his gems. Like doing the homework in the bus. Also last week, he stated one more shagufa(things which only Sahej can think of). When ever, me and Munna used to speak a little harshly to each other, he being on my side that day, he started warning munna that he will start ticking in his note book every time Munna speaks harshly. And true to that he did that and had a line full of ticks in his notebook. For my case, he gave me a stern warning and allowed me to get away. Hehehehehe

Yesterday, he came with a band aid on his right leg. Day before he had fallen down in School while runnign to board the bus at the close. He came home with blood on his leg. His school friend might have told him that he will bring a band aid for him the next day for his wound. And voila....

the next day, Sahej comes home with a band aid on his leg. When asked about it, he tells his friend brought it for him. And whats the name of this friend, and he doesn't remember it. Hmmm.......but what a friendship....

These days, Sahej is busy preparing for his birthday. He is actively pursuing things which we can give him as a gift on his birthday. Things like CDs, DVD, games and books are on his list. Lets see what more gets added by the time Aug 1st arrives.
