Results....A+ in Prep

It has been a long time since I last upated. Much has happened during this interval.

First things First.

Most importantly, Sahej has cleared Perp A with a resounding A+ and has been promoted to 1st class. That is a very good achievement in itself. All his grades have been excelent and the marks that he has got in the papers are very good. Apart from the silly mistakes he himself makes, and a couple of wrong questions asked, as pointed by his teachers, his scores are very very good.

Good Job Sahej....keep it up.

As was promised to Sahej before his exams that if he got an A+, he will get a hand gaming console, as soon as he came back from School with his report card, he was provided witha Mitashi gaming console. He simply loved it and has been playing with it ever since he got it.

Apart from that he got a watch as a gift from his nani and a mind game from his mother. And he went to Inorbit Mall to play his favourite games there. So got the rewards for the hard work he had put in.

He is now in class 1-H.

During his first PTM of class 1st, his teacher told us that he is doing good. When his mother told his mam that he told that she smiles at him and likes him, the look on the teachers face had to be seen to be believed. Her face was beaming with joy and she seemed very happy to hear that. Sure way Sahej knows how to please his teachers and friends. His teacher when asked how is he doing, told us that Sahej himself says in the class "I am a King". Sure, he is the King.....

Much has happened in these days apart from Sahej being promoted to next class. Sahej enjoyed his first ever Cricket world cup. During the matches, he always used to predict a India win and also used to shout for India. Amazing na.....But he missed out on the eventual world cup victory for India...as he was too sleepy and was already dreaming something else when Dhoni hit that six. Otherwise he would have been jumping as all of us were.

Exams Over....Vacation Time

Sahej exams were to be held from 17th Feb to 22nd Feb, with exam of Maths on 17th Feb, Hindi on 18th Feb, English on 21st Feb and EVS on 22nd.

So Sahej was made to study very hard in the run up to these exams. He used to wake up and start studying, then given some break and then study again and so on. This continued for the weekends and he was only allowed TV in the break time or in the evenings when he was tired of studying and we were equally tired of teaching him.

But he studied very hard and was putting in a lot of effort to complete the syllabus. The reward that was in front of him was that he was told that if he gets a A+ in the exams, he is going to get a portable video game that he had seen with one of his cousins. Reward was tempting and so was the hard work and effort he was putting in. His papers went well and only one glitch happened during the exams. His EVS exam was taken on the same day the exam for English was to be held without us knowing. This was done because School was forced to close due to some Telengana problems. And because he had studied hard the previous weekend and had already finished his EVS syllabus, he eventually was able to do good in the exam.

So well done Sahej and hopefully you will get a A+. His result is out on 5th March. Hoping for the best.

So after the exams, his vacations started which will go on till 13th March. his new session is going to start on 14th. Sahej is going to be in 1st class. I can't believe this. Just yesterday, I took him in my arms to Small Wonder School in Mohalli, to start his schooling and used to come in the afternoon to pick him up, and now he will be in 1st class. Hmmmm

Well as already promised to Sahej, we took him to Fun City so that he can play games and enjoy his vacations.

During these days, Sahej had some of his trademark moments. I don't remember all of them, but here are a few. When he was asked what he wants to eat in breakfast, he told "Circle Pakoda". Keep guessing....you will not be able to understand what he meant. Neither did we, till he explained he needed a Puri :)

That day when I was teaching him, he told me that I was a Robot and act like a Robot. When I asked him how can I be a robot, because I can move myself and also goto Office. He simple replied, "I have the remote for you, I press the buttons and you move", Hmmm...so true.

When Jovita was telling him that his exams are coming and he should do well to get a A+, he told that he will do well and then simply told Jovita "Woh aap car mein News sunte ho na, us pe sun lena ki mera result kaisa raha" (You listen to News in the car on the FM radio na...so please listen on that how my exam went). Hmmm...so now Sahej result should be anounced on FM. Great thought.....

So now that the vacations are almost over and the result is just around the corner, Sahej and we are waiting to hear the fibnal result.

Busy Days...Exams

These have been busy days. The exams are fast approaching for Sahej. His Prep A days are numbered now. The date sheet and the syllabus are out. His exams are starting from 17th Feb and end on 22nd Feb.

Few days back there was the last PTM for Sahej in Prep A. We were waiting for getting a flank again from his teachers regarding his behavior in class. But to our surprise, his teacher was very impressed with his behavior. She told me that he has been a very good boy in class. The study side has been also very impressive. Overall all his teachers were telling good things about him, apart from the Computer class teacher. She told us the truth about Sahej. She told that sometimes he does not listen to her and tells her point blank "Today I am not in a mood". Hmmmm

Also in the last few days, we attended the Annual Day for CA. Sahej was enjoying the outing to the fullest. He had a blast in the kids section, with jumping in the games area, trying to become a shooter and simply running here and there. He also enjoyed the dances and the songs and the food.

Also a few days back, we went to place called "Nautanki Gali" for lunch. The place is awesome and normally when we go out, Sahej gets bored after some time and tries to do things which he is not supposed to do. But here, he was simply engrossed trying to run the auto in which he was sitting. Yes, we were sitting in an auto, and Sahej was simply loving it.

Also in these last few days, Sahej has started doing Skating. A teacher comes at home to teach him and a couple of more kids to skate. He did a fine job and the teacher was really impressed with his progress.

But the latest thing that is happening is that Sahej has to study a lot these days. With exams barely a week away, we are pressuring him to complete the studies and the syllabus and he tries every trick in his book to get away with it. But we are trying and he is also trying. Hopefully, we both can achieve something that is acceptable to both of us.

Also Sahej was selected to be in the final quiz team from his class. We dont know for sure how many kids more were selected, but Sahej is there. His team name was Dolphins and he was given a batch with Dolphin on it to wear for the quiz. He did not tell much about how he performed, but anything can happen.

Annual Day'10

Hello

Sahej participated in his School's Annual Day in December 2010. He was to be a part of the Western Group Dance. We were told that they will be practicing in School and we just have to provide a Joker Dress for the act. Joker Dress...yes...you have read it correctly.

So we got him a Joker Dress on rent, which was a slight mistake on our part. But you learn as you make mistakes. So we intend to be better prepared next time around.

So all in all around 10 days, the kids practiced in School for the Dance. Just a couple of days before the event, Sahej chose to get himself sick. So he was not in a situation to go to School. We had informed his teacher about that. And guess what. A day before the event, his teacher called us to please send Sahej to School even for a couple of hours so that they can have a final practice. Now thats the first instance in which a teacher might have requested for a kid to be sent to school. So Sahej was all ready and his mommy went and dropped him to School with a promise that she will pick her up from School as well. The promise was actually a fluke as he was not going to school unless his mommy promised him to fetch back as well, and we had hoped that he will be coming back on the bus. So when in the evening, Jovita came back, Sahej was mighty angry with her for not picking her from school. It took much love and affection from both of us to finally cool down Sahej. Hmmmm

So the next day was Sahej' s Annual Day. Jovita dropped him to School in his Joker Dress. He was to wear the Joker dress, different colored socks and Sandals. And we went there later. The program was a nice one. And it dragged on and on with us wondering if we have already missed his act ot not. Jovita kept convincing me that it would be the last act. And rightly so, after much wait, we saw that some kids have lined up near the stage in Joker Dresses. And they looked absolutely stunning. The school teachers had painted their faces and each kid was wearing a Joker Cap and was also having a Joker nose. No single kid was identifiable and we were only able to identify Sahej after much time only because of the dress he was wearing. Great job from teachers. The kids looked their part.

And so the event started. First the boys came on stage and performed, then the girls did their jog and finally we had the couple dances. And later we had a couple of kids rolling on each other and a kid hanging from a ring in the center of the stage. Overall a very good act which got maximum response and applause from the parents. The kids were great and our Sahej was also doing very well. When we came home and saw the recording, Sahej was indeed the one who was doing his steps properly and the other kids sort of were following his steps. But overall a great and exhilarating event.

Later, when Sahej got back, he was given gifts and taken to Hyper City for the games for the good performance he had given.

Later Sahej, me and Jovita all enjoyed the winter break that we had in the last week of December. Sahej enjoyed being taken to Hyper City for the games. He had a blast in the games section and was not ready to come back.
